Bengal School of Mathematics , 1991-1994

The system of Education is now revolving round a private set of tutorial institutions governed by a single teacher or a multinational company. As a result study is being concentrated within some teachers who by dint of their labour and experience, tried and became successful to select some probable questions. They prepared suitable notes, supplied them among the students who successfully get through the exam.
One day in the Dept. of Mathematics  of Calcutta University one of the teacher asked me how it was possible that a student passing with 1st class honours fares badly than a pass graduate of 10 years back. I happened to meet him in relation to an Organisaion formed by thd Dept of math. APC College to fight against these student hunters.
On hearing our aims and objects our 'teacher of teachers', Prof. M.C.Chaki, remarked that it was not possible to mold  the students to go out of the present system in vogue unless the guardians fully cooperate with this. But we became to some extent successful in molding the students to the college library instead of going to private coaching and obtained good result in the final Honours examination.
